Faith
"Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1
Sorry for the lag in posts recently. It's been busy - well, that's always an understatement. We were traveling late last week, first to Tampa (to watch the Bulls get handed their first loss of the season... sigh, 5-0 felt good while it lasted.) We always have a good time at the games, even when we go by ourselves and that's exactly what we did - drove up on Thursday morning in a rental car that had ANTS (everyone provide a collective "ewwwwww") and got barely 3 hours sleep before catching a 7am flight connecting in Atlanta, final destination - Oklahoma City.
When I say, "We're going on vacation!" people naturally ask "Where ya going", to which I replied "Oklahoma" and this bewildered look comes across their faces. What - the heartland is very nice, thank you very much. We had a great time at the Rider Wedding... connected with Tim's youngest bro in Atlanta and shared the connecting flight, met up with his parents and members of the family I had not yet met (even after 9 years together?!) The weather was amazing - 70s, breezy, no humidity... my MS symptoms were basically non-existent... a nice change considering the accident that started this whole journey took place on our last vacation to Oklahoma for a wedding in 2005. Strange to be back "to the scene of the crime" - and on the exact one-year anniversary of my official diagnosis... creepy right?
In any case, the wedding was lovely, the time with family is always a blast, the R&R was much needed and my health loves the Central US climate!
We returned to our torn up house, respiratory problems from a mix of a cold and the nasty air we breathe in our home due to the dust caught in the air system. No sense in having it cleaned yet since the bathroom demo starts next week. Here's an update on that part of our life - my flooring guy finally called me back - Friday last week we spoke about grout selections (oh joy!) and I was under the assumption he was ordering everything so we could make some actual progress this week... no such luck. After trading voicemails ALL week we finally connected this morning and he's ordered product TODAY. Sheesh. But, maybe it's a blessing in disguise because last week we had decided against doing an accent tile because it wasn't cheap. there were too many options and we couldnt find anything we LOVED, and I want to LOVE this bathroom since 1.) it's our ONLY one, and 2.) insurance is paying for the remodel, might as well do it exactly as you want! We stumbled into a wonderful accent tile at Lowe's earlier this week when we were purchasing the vanity lighting, mirror, medicine cabinet, and other fixtures... and we LOVE it. I think you'll love it too. My tile guy is less than thrilled with laying an accent tile (and he might flip when he realizes I want the tile to be under the vanity AND on the diagonal - but he'll live).
So, looks like maybe next week will be demo, the dog will have to go back to Camp Andrew (he wont be complaining). He was at Tail End Pet Resort while we were gone to Oklahoma and he had a blast swimming, playing in the sand box and harassing other dogs - or so it said on the postcard "Cooper" wrote us while we were gone.
Here's some pics to entertain you:

Heather! I'm laughing so hard that Cooper "sent" you a postcard and that they took a picture of him! So funny! :)
Mary
Pardon-moi? You went to Oklahoma and didn't come down to see us?!
angela, we were literally on the ground in oklahoma less than 24 total hours... the wedding was supposed to be in dallas when they first got engaged... imagine my disappointment when they settled on OKC!
What? I'm sorry; all I hear are excuses. ;)
