Weekend Update 1/30/06

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)

Let's see if I can tear myself away from this awesome coffee with amaretto creamer long enough to write a recap...

The weekend was fantastic! Tim's folks surprised us earlier in the week by saying they wanted to come down. A women's conference was being held at our church so mom and I were going to attend. The boys got to do some yardwork and I know I saw them each take at least one nap!

The conference was fabulous, the speakers were both hilarious as well as thought provoking, and they were all great women of God. And I know the event brough mom and I closer together as family and as women. Can't wait for next year!

So I almost got electrocuted by my cheap Target floor lamps... I assembled one without incident, and by the time the second one was complete I had blown two circuits in the house AND the cord was smoking hot! Needless to say, it's being returned and I remain in the dark.

Tim has been invited to be in the wedding party for a dear friend in July... and we're headed to another exotic location.... Wis-cahn-sin ;) Last time it was Oklahoma... we are all over the map now!

Still no update on my health issues. Can't seem to get an appointment with a neurologist. I continue to see the chiropractor and get relief from that side of things. And the working out with a personal trainer is also helping (though my belly-aching over being sore wouldn't convince you of that.)

Trainer update: Tim's lost 10 lbs and 4 % body fat, and I've lost 5 lbs and regfuse to let the sexist pig at the gym evaluate my body fat ;)

Well, the coffee is finished, and so am I.

Such a warm welcome

God blesses the people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

I couldn't have imagined how many people dropped me an email to say "welcome back" now that my blog is back.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for actually reading and caring.

Back on the blog

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

I'm back in the blogosphere... (I can just hear the cheering from my personal peanut gallery.) But I've come back with one condition – that I stay focused. One of the reasons I took the blog down before was how it was taking a negative turn. And while I've never been one to be "fake" (smiling through hard times, etc) I also didn't like the pity party I was throwing myself.

So, I apologize to those who went on that journey with me, for those who might have been surprised by anything I posted in the old blog. And I make two promises to you moving forward:

1. I will start each entry with a scripture passage that either speaks to me, or I find fitting for something that I know one of you is going through.

2. I will use this blog to keep everyone informed about our life together, and entertained with stories of our journeys.

So, I guess I can't move forward without moving back and giving a bit of an update on the "bomb" I dropped before bringing down the previous blog...

My health
At last update I had been told to go for a second MRI to rule out or confirm the possibility that I have MS. I have not yet done that, nor do I plan to without a second opinion by a neurologist. I've been trying to get in to see one of the two doctor's that were recommended by friends. Still no luck with an appointment. I was able to get the radiologist's report and, not that it makes any sense to either of us, but Tim thinks he knows for a fact that I don't have MS.

I've been avoiding the internet, not really talking to people about the possibilities because everyone has a story, a person they know, or a mistruth about what causes MS. I do, however, appreciate everyone's prayers and calls. I promise to use this blog to keep you all up-to-date if anything should change.

Life in general
Other than the health issues lately, life is good. We're making small improvements on our house... redoing the wood on the hot tub enclosure, trying to upright trees in the backyard that Hurricane Wilma decided needed to be crooked, and I have made it my weekend hobby to patch and fix all scuffs on the walls that the previous owner hid very well before we bought the house.

So that's the update. Keep reading!
